What time do Tokyo's
DJ events actually start?

We counted the start times and weekdays of 3,133 DJ events in Tokyo (May 2026 – October 2026, 64 venues). The answer sits a long way from "clubbing is a weekend late-night thing".

A 1.9% after-midnight share says the centre of gravity is not the all-night megaclub. It is the bar-sized room you can reach straight from work.

2. Weekdays — half the week is a weeknight

Saturday is the busiest single day at 19.9%, but Monday through Thursday together account for 48.8%. Rather than clustering on the weekend, the scene runs most nights of the week.

Method, and what these numbers cannot say

The sample is every Tokyo DJ event listing djeventsearch.com collected in months that have fully closed (May 2026 – October 2026: 3,133 events across 64 venues). The current month and future months contain only already-announced events, which would skew both the weekday and start-time distributions, so they are excluded.
