What is this site?
"What's happening in Tokyo tonight?" — we try to make that as easy to answer as possible.
This isn't a tourist nightlife guide. It's a tool for people who actually go out in Tokyo, so they can find their way naturally to the music and the communities they care about.
Beyond genre and name recognition, we want you to be able to feel:
- what the vibe of an event is like
- who tends to show up
- what kind of room it's happening in
— that whole "temperature of the scene," not just the headline.
Why we built it
Sites like RA, iFlyer, and Clubberia do a great job with the big clubs and big events. But the smaller clubs, DJ bars, local community events, and weeknight parties that quietly hold the Tokyo scene together are much harder to find on those sites.
In reality, those are exactly the places where new communities and new connections come from — and where the next event, the next sound, the next culture grows out of.
We go out to those kinds of nights ourselves, so we just put "the event info we actually want to see" into the shape of this site.
Where does the info come from?
Event information on DJ Event Search is gathered mainly in three ways.
From venue websites and flyers
We check the official websites, event pages, and flyer images of each club and DJ bar every day, and organize the event info from there.
Smaller events tend to have their info scattered across more places, so we try to gather it from as many sources as we can.
From X (formerly Twitter)
We follow posts from venue accounts, organizers, and DJs — including retweets and quote tweets — to pull in event information.
When multiple posts are about the same event, we merge and tidy them into a single event page.
From the submission form
For organizers who don't have a venue account, and for smaller community events, we also have a submission form.
Send us the X post URL of the event and we'll check the content before publishing it.
We use AI to help organize information and draft text, but every page is reviewed by a person before going live.
For the full rules, please see our editorial policy page.
A note on the listings
The information on this site is gathered from:
- social media posts
- official venue websites
- flyer images
…and organized from there.
That means dates, times, line-ups, prices, and venue details may have changed or be out of date.
Before heading out, please always check the latest info on the venue's official site or the original post.
If you want your event listed
We also welcome event listing requests from organizers.
Just send us the X post URL of your event announcement through the submission form.
We'll check the content and publish it.
