MUSIC / GUIDE
Garage sessions can offer swung rhythms and distinctive uses of vocals. The word appears in house-related contexts as well as UK garage, so the label alone does not identify one sound. The DJs' recordings and the more specific styles in the announcement help clarify the programme.
Manchester producer and DJ Silva Bumpa makes his first Japan appearance. His sound crosses UKG, bassline, and speed garage, pairing rave energy with memorable vocals and pop instincts. It is a night for hearing the current edge of UK garage at speed.
UK bass-music producer and DJ NOTION makes his first appearance in Japan at Circus Tokyo. His style contrasts uplifting melodies with weighty low end across UK garage, bassline, house, and jungle. Doors open at 23:00 for a late-night look at a leading voice in new-generation UK bass music.
New event Good For My Soul launches as a year-end special. Its stated musical range runs through garage, punk, hardcore, power pop, UK/US indie, guitar pop, neo-acoustic, shoegaze, and mods. The first edition offers an afternoon for guitar-music fans to gather around a broad DJ selection.
